Andrew Hartnett joined The Wilderness Society in 2018 as our Recreation Policy and Partnerships Fellow, based out of the D.C. office. He was born in Freeport, Maine and grew up on a farm in Cobleskill, New York. He graduated from Princeton University in 2018 with a degree in Environmental Policy, writing a senior thesis on flood insurance policy in Amsterdam and New Orleans. He has a strong interest in online storytelling through video, and in engaging grassroots leaders with federal policy. An avid cyclist, he spends his time in D.C. pushing the limits of the three-speed Capital Bikeshares
